Photo taken by Luis Rosado, a Floor Supervisor and Lighting Technician of a film equipment rental house. He has been suffering from anxiety and depression for over 30 years, and has been sober for 4 years from an alcohol problem that lasted over 20 years. Photography has always been a wonderful outlet for him to capture and hold on to the brighter moments in his life.
About this photo: “This photograph, “Starry, Starry Night,” was taken in my home studio in NYC. It is an abstract photo. I don’t want to reveal what exactly it is a picture of yet. Creativity for me comes many times purely by accident. Something like a slight accident would have enraged me in the past but now through treatment and therapy I have learned to channel anger, anxiety, and depression into something positive and enriching. I find that photography gets me out of my head. This is key to my dealing with my anxiety and depression. It also helps with my sobriety.”
