Photos taken by The Happy Mango, a 28-year-old woman from Copenhagen. She was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder two years ago, which has meant a lot of soul searching, practice in self awareness and endless medicine adjustments – all of which made her get even worse before she got better. But the past couple of months she has actually begun to take pleasure in the things she used to again (it comes and goes in waves), one of them being photography. So she started her blog “The Happy Mango,” to give her a sort of purpose and a gentle push to do more of the things that make her feel better, and also share the good parts, because she believes that they are a big part of the healing process.
About these photos: “A couple of months ago I moved into my new apartment. This is the first time in 7 years that I haven’t had a roommate, and I feel it has given me space to breathe and be creative, and it’s definitely a huge step in my healing process! Sometimes a change of scenery can do wonders. The picture “free your soul” (very appropriate) was taken on the stairs of one of the top floors in my new 13 story building, the second one is the amazing view over Copenhagen from the 13th floor and the third is the view over the water and on the horizon you can actually see snow covered Sweden! It’s a great place to go and think and see the world from a different perspective.”
